
Clay entered the financial services industry in 2000 and now has 20 years of experience in helping clients reach their financial goals. This time includes experience spent in fee-based financial planning firms, bank investment firms, and independent advisory firms.
In November of 2009, Clay created DCA Financial Group, LLC and joined the network of LPL Financial. Located in his hometown of Strasburg, VA, Clay founded DCA Financial with the express focus of building relationships with clients to help them make good financial decisions.
Clay has a diverse client base represented by professionals, executives, and small business owners, to those nearing retirement and those enjoying retirement. Each of these groups of clients has its own unique financial concerns and issues. Clay's approach with his clients is to build a trusting relationship in order to get a full understanding of their current financial picture, as well as their overall financial goals and concerns. Many clients have common goals and concerns, such as saving for retirement, creating and conserving wealth, college education funding, insurance planning and investment advice.
Clay designs and recommends designed strategies to help clients achieve those goals and address those concerns. Through active account management, unrestricted and unbiased access to a full array of financial products and regular client conversations, Clay is able to assist clients in navigating their financial lives. In addition, Clay has been an advocate of the Dave Ramey program and was selected as a SmartVestor Pro in 2011. Clay enjoys employing the Dave Ramsey approach with many of his clients and prospects who navigate their way to him for financial assistance from their experience with Dave Ramsey. Clay truly believes in and embodies the approach of having the “heart of a teacher” when working and partnering with his clients.
Clay earned his Bachelor of Science in Education and his Master of Teaching degrees from the University of Virginia. He holds the Series 7 and 66 licenses, as well as state Life and Annuity licenses.
